THE AMALFI COAST AND THE PONTINE ISLANDS

The Amalfi Coast presents some of the most spectacular scenery of the whole Mediterranean. Stretching from Sorrento to Salerno, this summer playground with its cliff top towns and startling blue seas is filled with expensive yachts and beautiful people. Ischia, Ponza or the beautiful island of Capri chic Mediterranean meets traditional Italian, explore,dine, relax and just watch the world go by from the deck of your yacht.

Weather on the Amalfi Coast

Like most of the Mediterranean, the Amalfi Coast yacht chartering season runs from April to the end of October. The hottest time is in July and August and these months are also extremely busy so many people prefer to enjoy the coastline during June and September.

SARDINIA AND ELBA

From the fabulous jetset lifestyle of the Costa Smerelda, to the beauty of La Maddalena Islands, Sardinia has one of Europe’s most stunning coastlines, a mixture of rugged mountains and golden beaches against a clear blue ocean. With an average of 300 days of sunshine per year, warm days relaxing on the yacht or afternoons spent wandering around the chic boutiques and markets of Porto Cervo rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous, make this a cruising vacation with a difference.

Elba, is the largest of the seven islands in the Tuscan Archipelago lying just 9kms off the coast of Italy. With many attractive harbours and anchorages, natural pine forests and sandy beaches it is also an island filled with history as Napoleon Bonaparte was exiled here in 1814. Known for their fine local food and wine, these islands framed by crystal-clear waters have so much variety in their natural landscape that they are provide a wonderful cruising destination, which, if you have a bit more time you can extend with a few days in Corsica or Sardinia.

From April to September the warm winds heading over the sea from Africa make the Sardinian climate slightly less hot than some of the mainland spots. High season as for the rest of the mediterannean is in July and August.

SICILY AND THE AEOLIAN ISLANDS

Sicily, with its mountainous interior, wildly beautiful coastline and offshore islands, offers a dramatic cruising destination less than two nautical miles from the foot of Italy. The history of the island and the imposing volcanic scenery, combined with sensational local cuisine and unique culture, are a real feast for the senses. Visit charming Panarea, haunt of the jet set and the prettiest of the seven Lipari Islands, and watch Stromboli, provide its nightly firework display as it thrusts a stream of molten lava into the sky. Alternatively sail from Marsala and explore the Egadi Islands, just 25 nm off the west coast.

The charter season generally runs from April to the end of October with July and August being the hottest months with lighter winds.
